LA Confidential Film Review

Throughout my blog I will be building up my work on film reviews and posters and to start this off this is my first film review on LA Confidential.

LA Confidential is intense all the way through. The directors and writers have created a story that makes the reader actually think about what they are watching and try to work out what will happen next.

The film from 1997 can still be related to and have an impact all these years later. Throughout the story are repeated deaths and people killing people you wouldn’t expect. There’s mystery to the story with unexpected resolutions.

In the film is a ‘made up’ character of Rolo Temassy, but is he really made up?  Or is it infact Dudley? Who knows, Dudley dies at the end, shot by the good cop, Ed Exley.

The story has twists and turns and with the corrupt police, unexpected issues. It portrays real film and neo noir conventions and characters. It has the traditional dark lighting and storyline with elements of crime. The characters like the femme fatale, heroes and villains are also traditional to a film noir.

The crime aspect of the film is brilliant, they capture real thoughts and scenes of a horrible aspect. The whole way through the film I was intrigued and eager to learn what would happen next. In the end, it was seeming to be resolved yet with that hidden aspect and film noir style of unresolved mysterious issues.
